Today’s U.S. military needs to be able to continually leverage innovation to best support mission goals. This requires the use of the most nimble, secure software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions that can meet dynamic user needs.

The solution allows the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corp., U.S. Coast Guard, DoD Agencies, and NAF Agencies to take advantage of cloud-based solutions that improve efficiency and drive greater productivity, while at the same time, have assurances that Oracle Service Cloud delivers against process and security control requirements.
In 2015, the Oracle Service Cloud received a Provisional Authorization (PA) from the U.S Department of Defense (DoD) under the DoD Cloud Security Model at security impact Level 4. This announcement came about after the Oracle announced that it had been approved to provide secure managed cloud services to federal customers for complying with “Federal Cloud First” initiatives.
Fast forward to the fall of 2016, the U.S. Air Force announced that its MyPers personnel portal for 1.7 million active duty and retired airmen, civilian and reservists, transitioned over to the Oracle cloud.
According to a recent NextGov article, it is the first software-as-a-service accredited implementation for a cloud provider at DoD impact level 4.
“We absolutely have gotten everything out of it to show how cloud computing can add mission value to our personnel community,” said Bill Marion, the Air Force’s Deputy Chief Information Officer, in the article.
